On May 24, ShareMusic & Performing Arts arranges a dance workshop and talks for dance teachers and pedagogues. Spinn’s artistic director Veera Suvalo Grimberg and dancer from Spinn Emilia Wärff participates in the workshop.

In Region Jönköping County, we work with a strong focus on dance development, and in collaboration with Danskompaniet Spinn, we now invite you to an evening of knowledge and inspiration on behalf of Jönköping Municipality.

For three hours you will meet Sophia Alexandersson, artistic director of ShareMusic & Performing Arts, Veera Suvalo Grimberg, choreographer and dancer, artistic director of Danskompaniet Spinn and Emilia Wärff, dancer from Danskompaniet Spinn. All three have many years of experience in inclusion and dance.

Arranged in collaboration with Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan / Studio 11 on behalf of Jönköping kommun. The event is for dance leaders and dance pedagogues in the Jönköping area. Registration for the workshop is available on Vuxenskolan’s website.

Come and listen to a presentation of Universal Performing Arts and take part in some of the projects that live within the network: the productions Vind Blås Mig!, Utflykten and Relaxed Performace.

Poetissan från Aareavaara – Paradisets barn

It is with pleasure that we can announce that dancers from Spinn participate in the performance Poetissan från Aaareavaara – Paradisets barn!

The performance premieres on June 12, at 16.00 in the Stora salen at Studio Acusticum in Piteå and is part of the Festspelen in Piteå which takes place between 11-16 June. Spinn’s artistic director Veera Suvalo Grimberg choreographs and also dances with Hannah Karlsson and Britta Kangas.

Poetissan från Aareavaara – Paradisets barn (The Poet from Aaareavaara – The Children of Paradise) is an interdisciplinary and cross-border performing arts production in five languages in the border and the third room of music.

The corpuscle movement; a religious, orgiastic sect in 20th century Sweden that was banned after high-profile trials where material was classified and disappeared without a trace. A story of sexual liberation and a religious movement that lost its grip with social misery, exclusion and inherited shame as a result.

Read more about the performance and the entire program for the festival on their website.

Globe & Climate workshops in Härryda kommun

After an incredibly nice tour up in Norrland with the performance Miramos, it is now time for Globe & climate workshops in Härryda kommun.

There will be no less than about twenty workshops over the next three weeks. Full focus on issues related to the climate and on how together we can make big differences in the small things. We talk about shared responsibility, think about how everything’s connected and how we together can make a change. Because together we are both strong, brave and inventive.

The dancers in Spinn are excited to visit: Lanvetterskola, Vällsjöskola, Hindåsskola, Härrydaskola, Lunnaskola, Hällingsjöskola, Högadalskola, Säteriskola, Skinnefjällskola, Rävlandaskola, Furuhällskola and Backaskola. So yes, there will be a lot!

School workshops!

School workshops dealing with the UN Children’s Rights Convention and with our environment!

It is time for us in Spinn to set off to Nygårdsskolan with the workshop Lika värde! We are also working on the workshop Vågade Vågor at Sandbackaskolan in Kungälv.

Nygårdsskolan in Askim and the students in first grade are visited by Spinns’ dancers Felicia Sparrström and Hannah Karlsson. For three Mondays we will, together with the students, create a safe space where we can talk about and dance with the students the basic principles of the UN Children’s Rights Convention.

Since last week we are at Sandbackaskolan in Kungälv with Vågade Vågor. In the workshop, we explore movements with the children with inspiration from water, animals and plants. We create sounds with trash and build shapes using our bodies. Using each student’s own prerequisites, we create a safe environment where everyone dares to wave in their own way.
