Summer is waiting and we are already in the last week of May! The lilacs bloom and there is a scent of summer in the air. A lot has happened during the spring and Spinn has certainly not been lazy with workshops held around the region! The final workshops of the semester are waiting soon, which are in Kungshamn and Hunnebostrand. Next week, students in year 6 participate in the workshop Klot & klimat (Globe & Climate) led by Spinn’s dancers Annika Vestel and Felicia Sparrström.

Earlier this week, Spinn was in Malmö at a lab together with Share Music, Candoco Dance Company and local dance actors who are part of Skånes Dansteatern’s network. It was a fantastic day filled with joy, inspiration and of course dancing. Many thanks to everyone who participated!

Spinn’s artistic director Veera Suvalo Grimberg participates in the talk Universell Scenkonst, 19 May during this year’s Bibu in Helsingborg!

In Universell Scenkonst, we get to take part in how the work with the perspectives around Universell Scenkonst has gone, viz more culture for and by more people, inclusion and everyone’s right to both experiences, explore and practice performing arts. They want to talk about how the network started and how others could do, and feel free to listen to others who have experience and thoughts about this. If we share knowledge, it will be bigger!

Come and listen to a presentation of Universal Performing Arts and take part in some of the projects that live within the network: the productions Vind Blås Mig!, Utflykten and Relaxed Performace.

It is with pleasure that we can announce that dancers from Spinn participate in the performance Poetissan från Aaareavaara – Paradisets barn!

The performance premieres on June 12, at 16.00 in the Stora salen at Studio Acusticum in Piteå and is part of the Festspelen in Piteå which takes place between 11-16 June. Spinn’s artistic director Veera Suvalo Grimberg choreographs and also dances with Hannah Karlsson and Britta Kangas.

Poetissan från Aareavaara – Paradisets barn (The Poet from Aaareavaara – The Children of Paradise) is an interdisciplinary and cross-border performing arts production in five languages in the border and the third room of music.

The corpuscle movement; a religious, orgiastic sect in 20th century Sweden that was banned after high-profile trials where material was classified and disappeared without a trace. A story of sexual liberation and a religious movement that lost its grip with social misery, exclusion and inherited shame as a result.
