From 23–26 June, dance researchers and dance practitioners will gather in Reykjavík for the 17th edition of the Nordic Forum for Dance Research (NOFOD) conference. Among this year’s participants is Veera Suvalo Grimberg, Artistic Director of Spinn, who will lead the workshop Inclusive Tools and Playful Explorations.

This year’s conference theme, “Centre & Periphery: Dance, Identity and the Politics of Place,” explores questions concerning the role of dance in relation to identity, belonging, and geographical perspectives.

Veera Suvalo Grimberg’s workshop will take place on Wednesday, 24 June, from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. local time. During the session, she will share methods and experiences related to inclusive practices and playful approaches to exploring dance.

NOFOD is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening collaboration between dance researchers and dance practitioners across the Nordic countries. Through seminars, conferences, performances, publications, and the dissemination of knowledge, the organization works to develop and raise awareness of diverse forms of dance research and dance practice.

Since 1990, NOFOD has organized a Nordic research conference every two years and has become an important meeting place for professionals and stakeholders within the dance field.
