English initiative Disability Arts International was created by the British Council with the purpose of putting the spotlight on art and culture created by disabled artists, disabled-led companies and inclusive arts organizations.
In their ongoing article series Country Profile, where they’ve previously covered the views on and the work with questions concerning inclusion in the arts in Korea, Ireland and Portugal, the turn has finally come to Sweden. And we are very proud that they chose to get in touch with Spinn! We discussed our methods of working and how we relate to issues about accessibility, focusing on what possibilities – or should we perhaps say the lack thereof – exist when it comes to higher education for artists with disabilities. Although the good news is that things are actually moving forward in that area!
