Artist in residence Vara konserthus

Being Artist in Residence at Vara Konserthus means that as an artist, for a limited time, you get the opportunity to deepen and test your production idea. This is a way for Vara Konserthus to create artistic development and new performing arts while the audience gets a chance to get to know an artist a little more closely.

In 2023, Spinn began a collaboration with Vara Konserthus on the production Svansen. Svansen  is aimed at children 3-5 years old. The collaboration also included the renowned choreographer Minna Krook. Svansen premiered 31 January 2024 at Vara Konserthus.

A dancer sits between a group of white screens with pointy edges, resembling icebergs. We see the dancer from their shoulder up, with their gaze fixed on the viewer. The dancer is wearing a pink body stocking with a vest on top. On their head, the dancer wears a hat with fluffy pointy pink hair. To the right behind the dancer, we see two pink legs coming up. The background is dark blue and in the foreground, we see a large fluffy pink tail. Photo: Malin Arnesson

Relaxed Performance

During the residency, Spinn’s artistic director Veera Suvalo Grimberg will also produce a relaxed performance production aimed at several target groups. Relaxed Performance is a concert format where everyone is welcome to take in the music in their own way – there are opportunities to move around, dance, sing or just listen.
